Meta Business Suite is a free tool from Meta that lets small businesses and creators manage their presence on Facebook, Instagram, Threads and WhatsApp from one place. You open it at business.facebook.com or in the Meta Business Suite mobile app. It runs on a business portfolio, the container that holds your Facebook Page, Instagram account, ad account and the people who can access them. From the suite you can plan and schedule posts, stories and reels in Planner, answer messages and comments in Inbox, read Insights on organic and paid content, and create simple ads or boost posts. Meta itself says to switch to Ads Manager for campaigns with several ad sets, custom audiences, A/B tests of ads or retargeting. So use Business Suite for daily content and conversations, and Ads Manager, or an agent built on it, for the advertising.
TL;DR
- Meta Business Suite is free. Open it at business.facebook.com or in its mobile app.

- Adwize builds full Meta campaigns from one sentence and waits for your approval before anything runs.

What is Meta Business Suite?
Meta Business Suite is a free platform where a small business or a creator manages its presence on Facebook, Instagram, Threads and WhatsApp from one screen. Content, messages, results and simple ads sit side by side, so you stop switching between four apps to run one brand.
Meta describes it as a way to centrally manage your business and online presence across its technologies. Everything happens inside a business portfolio: the space that brings together your Facebook Page, your Instagram account, your ad account and the people who work on them.
The home screen gives you an overview of that portfolio: a to-do list, your recently published and scheduled content, and resources to grow your audience. Alerts about recent activity or issues that need attention appear in notifications.
How do you access Meta Business Suite?
Go to business.facebook.com and log in with your Facebook profile or a managed Meta account. Meta Business Suite exists on desktop and as a mobile app, so you can answer a message or check a scheduled post from your phone. There is no subscription: the suite itself is free.
The desktop version gives you the full set of tabs and the All tools menu. The mobile app covers the daily work: posting, replying and checking results on the go.
If you only see your personal profile when you log in, you have no business portfolio yet. Create one first, then add your Page and Instagram account to it.
How do you create a business portfolio?
Log in at business.facebook.com, open the dropdown menu below Home in the top left and click Create a business portfolio. Enter your business name, then your first name, last name and business email if you use a Facebook profile. Confirm the email Meta sends you, and the portfolio is yours.
A few rules from Meta’s help page are worth knowing before you start:
- The name is public. It should match the public name of your business, because it is visible across Meta, and it cannot contain special characters.
- The business email stays private. Meta uses it to contact you, and your customers do not see it.
- You can create up to 2 business portfolios yourself. There is no limit on how many portfolios you can belong to, so an agency joins its clients’ portfolios instead of creating new ones.
- New portfolios may not get every ad feature at once. Meta grants some features only once an advertiser meets certain requirements. Business Support Home shows what you have and what to do next.
Once it exists, add your Facebook Page, your Instagram account and your ad account, then invite the people who need access.
- Log in at business.facebook.com
- Open the menu below Home, top left
- Click Create a business portfolio
- Enter the public business name and your email
- Confirm the email, then add Page, Instagram and ad account
What can you do in Meta Business Suite?
You can plan and publish content, answer every message and comment in one inbox, read your results, create simple ads and find creators. Meta groups these jobs into tabs: Home, Planner, Content, Inbox, Insights, Ads and Monetization, plus an All tools menu that leads to Ads Manager and Events Manager.
- Planner. A calendar view of your posts, stories, reels and ads, published and scheduled, for your Page and Instagram account.
- Content. Create, schedule and manage posts, stories and reels, run A/B tests on organic content, preview your Facebook feed and Instagram grid, and get AI help for ideas.
- Inbox. Messages and comments from your Facebook Page, Messenger, Instagram and WhatsApp Business in one place, with automations for common questions.
- Insights. Trends, content activity and audience details for your organic and paid content on Facebook and Instagram.
- Ads. Quick individual ads and boosted posts, tracked from the Ads tab.
- Creator marketplace. Find Instagram creators to work with, using filters and recommendations.
- All tools. Shortcuts to Ads Manager, Reach Planner, Events Manager, Business Support Home, Billing and payments, and Page settings.
How do you schedule posts in Meta Business Suite?
Click Create post from the home page or the Content tab, choose where it goes, add your media and text, then pick a date and time under Scheduling options. You need full control of the Page or Instagram account, or content permission on it. The post then appears in Planner with everything else you scheduled.
The steps on desktop, as Meta’s help page gives them:
- Go to Meta Business Suite and click Create post.
- Under Post to, select your Facebook Page, Instagram profile or Facebook Group.
- Under Media, add your photos. Instagram accepts up to 10 photos in one post.
- Under Post details, write your text. You can customize it separately for Facebook and Instagram.
- Under Scheduling options, choose the date and time, then click Schedule.
Click Active times before you choose: Meta suggests slots based on when your followers were most active on Facebook and Instagram over the past 7 days. Scheduled posts can be edited, rescheduled, duplicated or deleted later from the Content tab.
Meta Business Suite or Ads Manager: which should you use?
Use Meta Business Suite for organic content, conversations, Insights and quick ads. Use Ads Manager for real advertising campaigns: several ad sets and ads, custom audience targeting, detailed analytics, ad scheduling, A/B tests of ad sets or campaigns, retargeting and Shops ads. Meta says you can use both at the same time.
The split is simple in practice. Business Suite answers the question “what do we post and who do we reply to today?”. Ads Manager answers “who do we pay to reach, with which ad, and is it profitable?”.
Most growing businesses end up living in both: Business Suite for the community, Ads Manager for the budget. The table below sums up which tool does which job.
| Job | Meta Business Suite | Ads Manager |
|---|---|---|
| Schedule posts, stories and reels | Yes, with Planner | No |
| Reply to messages and comments | Yes, in Inbox | No |
| Boost a post or create a simple ad | Yes | Yes |
| Several ad sets in one campaign | No | Yes |
| Custom audience targeting and retargeting | No | Yes |

How do you create ads from Meta Business Suite?
Open the Ads tab, or click Boost on a post, choose a goal, an audience, a budget and a duration, then publish. Meta calls this a streamlined experience designed for simple setup. It suits a one-off promotion, such as boosting a post that already works, and you track results from the same tab.
The trade-off is control. You get one ad at a time, without multiple ad sets to compare audiences, without custom audiences built from your customers or site visitors, and without the detailed breakdowns you need to decide where the next dollar goes.
When you outgrow boosts, you have two options: learn Ads Manager, or let an agent build the campaign in it for you. Adwize does the second. You describe your offer in one sentence and it prepares the campaign, the ad sets, the audiences and the ads in your ad account, paused until you approve. See the Launch page.
Where does Meta Business Suite stop for advertisers?
Business Suite shows you what happened, not what to do next. Insights will tell you an ad’s reach and clicks, but nothing ranks your ads by profit, flags a creative that is wearing out or proposes where to move budget. That reading, every day, is still your job.
For a business with one page and a few boosts a month, that is fine. For anyone spending every day on Meta ads, the gaps add up: no multi-ad-set campaigns, no retargeting, no automatic check of what drifts.
Adwize fills that gap on top of your Meta ad account. It reads your results each morning, says in one sentence what is losing money and why, and proposes the change for your approval. See the Optimize page. It works with Meta ads only, Facebook and Instagram, and you can start with a free trial with credits.
Frequently asked questions
Is Meta Business Suite free?
Yes. Meta describes it as a free platform. You pay only for the ads you choose to run, through your ad account. Scheduling posts, using Inbox and reading Insights cost nothing.
Is Meta Business Suite the same as Business Manager?
Not quite. Business Manager was Meta’s earlier tool for managing business assets. Today you manage your Page, Instagram account, ad account and team through a business portfolio, which you set up and use in Meta Business Suite.
Can I schedule Instagram posts with Meta Business Suite?
Yes. You can create and schedule posts, stories and reels for Instagram and Facebook from the same screen, customize the text for each, and see everything in Planner. An Instagram post can hold up to 10 photos.
How many business portfolios can I create?
You can personally create up to 2 business portfolios. There is no limit on the number of portfolios you can belong to, so you can join a client’s or a partner’s portfolio instead of creating another one.
Should I use Meta Business Suite or Ads Manager for ads?
Use Business Suite for quick ads and boosted posts. Use Ads Manager for campaigns with several ad sets, custom audiences, retargeting, A/B tests of ads and detailed analytics. Meta notes that you can use both at the same time.
