Business verification in Meta Business Suite confirms that your business portfolio belongs to a real, legally registered business, and that you are allowed to represent it. You start it in Security Center, where you see either Start verification or Ineligible for verification. You need full control of the portfolio. You enter your legal business name, address, phone number and website, which must load over HTTPS. If Meta finds no matching record, it may ask for official documents such as a business license or articles of incorporation. You then confirm your connection by email, phone, text, WhatsApp or domain verification. A decision can take up to 14 business days. Verification can unlock features such as a faster rise in your daily spending limit, Advanced Access for developers or Meta Business Partner status. It is not Meta Verified and gives no badge. False information can get a submission rejected.
TL;DR
- Verification proves your portfolio belongs to a registered business and that you can represent it.
- Go to Security Center: you see Start verification, or Ineligible for verification.
- You need full control of the portfolio, exact legal details and a website that loads over HTTPS.
- A decision can take up to 14 business days. It is not Meta Verified and gives no badge.
- Adwize does not verify your business for you: you complete it in Meta, then Adwize works in your account.

What is business verification in Meta Business Suite?
It is Meta’s check that your business portfolio, the place that groups your Pages, Instagram and Threads accounts, ad accounts and catalogs, belongs to a legitimate business or organization. Meta asks you to prove two things: that the business is a legal entity, and that you are an authorized representative of it.
For the first point, the business must be registered with local authorities and have an official phone number or mailing address. For the second, you must be able to receive a code sent to the business phone or email, or verify the domain of your portfolio.
Do not confuse it with Meta Verified for businesses. Meta states that verifying your business in Meta Business Suite is a different thing and does not give you a verified badge. Our guide to Meta Business Suite explains where portfolios and Security Center sit.
When do you need to verify your business?
Not every business needs it, and not every business can do it. Open Security Center in Meta Business Suite: you will see either Start verification or Ineligible for verification. Depending on the feature you want, Meta may also email or notify you from another platform, such as Commerce Manager, to verify there.
Meta lists common cases, without claiming the list is complete. Some advertisers can raise their daily spending limit faster once verified. Developers need it for Advanced Access to any permission. It is required to become a badged Meta Business Partner, to join the News Page Index, and for some WhatsApp Business Platform features.
Businesses with a large US audience, or that run ads about social issues, elections or politics in the United States, must verify and claim responsibility for their Page. Agencies based in China must verify to access accounts shared with their portfolio. Financial services advertisers have their own requirements, covered in our page on Meta financial services ads.
What do you need before you start?
Two conditions come first. Your business portfolio must be eligible for verification, and you must have full control of it, the highest permission level, which lets you manage every setting. If you cannot open Security Center at all, Meta says you may not have full control.
Have your legal details ready: the exact legal name, address, phone number and website of the business. They must match your registered legal entity exactly. Your website must load and be HTTPS compliant, meaning its address starts with https://.
One shortcut exists. If you pay for ads by monthly invoicing, Meta says you do not need to submit documents: you fill in the form with your credit line information. If that option is missing, check that the credit line is owned by the portfolio you are verifying, not shared by another business.
How do you verify your business, step by step?
On a desktop browser, go to Security Center in Meta Business Suite and click Start verification. Enter your business details: legal name, address, phone number and website. Then confirm them against the records Meta suggests. Next, pick how to confirm your connection to the business, confirm it, and click Done.
The connection methods Meta lists are email, phone, text message, WhatsApp message and domain verification. Domain verification proves you own the website by adding a meta tag or a DNS record. Our guide to Meta domain verification walks through it.
After Done, Meta shows that your submission was received. Keep your details stable: Meta notes that if you edit your business details later, you have to complete verification again.
| Step | What Meta asks |
|---|---|
| Access | Full control of an eligible business portfolio |
| Business details | Legal name, address, phone, HTTPS website |
| No matching record | Official documents, such as a business license |
| Connection | Email, phone, text, WhatsApp or domain verification |
| Decision | Up to 14 business days, with a notification |
| Monthly invoicing | Credit line details instead of documents |
- Open Security Center, click Start verification
- Enter legal name, address, phone, website
- Confirm the details, or upload documents
- Pick email, phone, text, WhatsApp or domain
- Confirm the connection and click Done
Which documents does Meta ask for?
Meta’s steps only bring up documents when it cannot find a record matching the details you entered. In that case, you can select My business isn’t listed or None of these match. Meta may then ask you to upload official documents, such as a business license or articles of incorporation, to confirm what you entered.
The documents must back up the exact legal details you typed. A trading name on the form and a different legal name on the certificate is the kind of gap that slows a review.
Example. A studio trades as “Northlight Prints” but is registered as “Northlight Creative LLC”. It enters the registered name, the registered address and its official phone number, then uploads its articles of organization if Meta finds no match.
Where do you find your verification status, and how long does it take?
People with full control of the portfolio can see the status in Security Center, a section of Settings in Meta Business Suite. If you started verification from another platform, such as Commerce Manager, and the status is not in Security Center, check that platform instead.
Meta says a decision can take up to 14 business days, and you receive a notification when the review ends. If you are told your business is verified, there is nothing more to do.
Plan around that delay. If verification is what stands between you and a feature, such as a higher spending limit, start it well before you need the feature.
Why does Meta reject a business verification?
Meta weighs several factors, and its rejection page names four reasons. Submitting, or being suspected of submitting, false or misleading information. Trying to claim or verify a portfolio you do not own or cannot represent. Trying to get around the review system. And a website that fails to load, is not HTTPS, or links to an error.
The last reason is the easiest to fix yourself. Open your site from a private window, check that it starts with https://, and click your main links before you submit again.
If your submission was rejected, Meta says you may be able to appeal. Look at Security Center, or the platform where you started, to see your status and options. Meta also warns that misleading information can lead it to remove a verified status or take further action on the account.
- False or misleading details
- = rejection
- A portfolio you cannot represent
- = rejection
- Website down, not HTTPS or broken link
- = rejection
- Rejected submission
- = appeal may be possible
What does Adwize do, and not do, here?
Adwize does not verify your business, does not submit documents and does not contact Meta for you. Verification happens in your own Meta Business Suite, by someone with full control of the portfolio. Adwize then works inside your ad account, with the access you give it. See the Launch page.
Once your account is ready, Adwize prepares campaigns in plain words, waits for your approval before anything launches, changes or spends, and reads the results each day. See the Optimize page.
Adwize works with Meta ads only, on Facebook and Instagram, under the same rules and limits as Ads Manager.
